NEW Government help to buy scheme in 2026

Build your first home with up to 40% government equity support

Reduce the size of your home loan! The federal Help to Buy Scheme is expanding.
First Home Buyers may access up to 40% in government equity support for a new build, reducing the size of the home loan you need.

If you’ve already secured land, STATUS Residential can help you understand what this scheme could mean for your build and guide you through the next step toward home ownership.

What is the Help to Buy Scheme?

Help to Buy is a federal shared equity scheme designed to help eligible Australians buy a home with a smaller loan. For new builds, the government may contribute up to 40% of the purchase price, subject to eligibility, scheme criteria and lender approval. The scheme is currently rolling out through CommBank and Bank Australia, with more lenders expected to join throughout 2026.

On top of that, there are other homeownership support options outside the Help to Buy Scheme that are only available to WA residents. Enquire now to learn more!
